Open your inventory, in the 2×2 crafting grid, place one red tulip, poppy, beet root, or rose bush in the first grid. One red tulip, poppy, or beet root will give you one red dye, and one rose bush will give you two red dyes.

Using rose bush is another way to make red dye in Minecraft. It is not the easiest method since rose bush is rarer than red tulip and poppy, but you will get two red dyes by using a rose bush.
